watchet tide gate and lights

Be aware the tide gate does not close, and the traffic lights are triple red from both directions. HM says pass at caution, marina co say there was a notice to mariners about it.

Sadly plenty of mud abounds.

Just arrived at watchet. HM very helpful but confirm tide gate is broken so entire marina dries to soft mud. We will only be afloat for a couple of hours each side of HW.
HM will only charge us for 2 days but stay for 3 as compensation.

Normal rate is about £3.60 per M per night.

Dredging has been progressing, perhaps 40% done but stopped till new thrust pin manufactured for the gate

I hate to be a 'doom-monger' but if the dredging at Watchet does continue using the water dispersion dredger ( or as TSB240 has eminently described it 'the Karcher Washer Dinghy Dredger') that the Marine Group seem to put so much faith in, then I think it's a losing battle,
