no transat trip is ready without a post about watch rotas. I had thort perhaps stingo would like to do it all, whilst para does fishing and and comms, and ljs and I experiment with up interesting pie/fish based recipes.

Otherwise zefender had some nice system for four people mebbe? Or others? It,s gotta be simple tho. I mean, very very simple...

Skipper is never on watch, but is always the 1st to be woken when assistance is required.
Then the other three are four hours on, eight hours off. Means you get to do different hours.

EDIT: Errr, that doesn't work. Hold on... I'll be right back

How about 3 on, six off?

Tme-------Day 1-------Day 2-------Day 3--------- repeated
0 - 3-------Stingo-------LJS---------Para
3 - 6-------Para---------Stingo------LJS
6 - 9-------LJS----------Para--------Stingo
9 - 12------Stingo------LJS---------Para
12 - 15-----Para--------Stingo-----LJS
15 - 18-----LJS----------Para-------Stingo
18 - 21-----Stingo------LJS--------Para
21 - 0------Para---------Stingo-----LJS

Now at last a post I be of help on.

If you want para to catch yout grub then he'll need to be on watch at prime fish catching time which is an hour before dusk and the two hours either side of dawn.

So I propose that the rest of you rotate around him, so to speak.

But supposing Para is a tiny bit crepe at catching the fish? Rotating the watches and thus, by definition rotating the fishing will provide a league table of success and failure and ensure fishing supremacy can be proven in a quasi-statistical way. Worth bearing in mind that squalls seems to be frequent at or after first light and a blinking fishing line and rod hanging off the back ain't always a good idea.

Sounds good tho don't forget the times they are a'changing as we travel east so not sure how you can factor that in.
Oh and the skipper should be woken at least once every night. 'Skip just waking you to tell you that everything seems to be ok...'
