My mission for Sunday which I chose to accept was to swap the waste hose on my toilet to remove whatever blockage was making it hard to flush.
The seacock is located in a position that is very difficult to get at, even when you've removed the toilet. I reckon they dangled the ruddy thing on a piece of string from the shed roof and constructed the rest of the boat around it.
Anyway, after a couple of hours twisted into the head compartment trying to get the new hose onto the seacock and after taking the skin off my palm and swearing enough to make a builder blush, I gave up to think about it over a cuppa.
I noticed my freshly polished valve plug from the seacock sitting there and cam up with an idea.
I smeared some vaseline in the end of the hose, heated the end with a heat gun and then jammed the valve plug into the hose twisting it by the handle.
Whilst the hose was still warm I then stuck it on the seacock first go /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The blockage was caused by about half a pound of deposits inside the old hose.
