It's that time of year again, horay! Just washed in the bath my newish sprayhood, with v. dilute washing up liquid. The hood is made of WeathrMax, but what I've noticed is that the windows...once put in the bath.....have had chalk like deposits appear all over one side of the plastic.
So I've taken it out and will have even more polishing to do with the old Renovo...

Any thoughts or similar experiences? One for the proto chemists perhaps??

The fogging of the windows which have appeared after immersion in water will disappear when properly dried out, have experienced similar effect.

Oh that's interesting......I wonder why the "chalky ness" is only on one side? Thank you!
I think I'll have to use the power washer on the hood the lawn...the bath bit didn't work! Then I'll "renovo" those windows and see what happens.......

Power washer sounds a bit fierce to me. I usually wash canvas work with warm soapy water and a soft broom, finally rinsing it off with a hose.

I used skippers choice on my spray hood and it did a fantastic job of getting it clean and rid of the green slime that manifested itself over the lay up last season. Would defo recommend.

I treat my sprayhood with Boracol about 3 times a year. It stops it going green. Apart from that, all I do with it is rub it over with a soapy sponge whenever I'm washing the boat.
