washing machine

Hi all
fitting a washing machine to keep wife n kids onbord, on land thay just stand there on a sailing boat it will tip over, can anyone tell me how that fixed theres in.

Point it bow and stern and build it into some fitted ‘furniture’ packed around with thin foam padding.

Look at the Eumania derivatives, try a caravan/camping store for best bargains.

But, at 2Kw on the heater you will need some sizeable shore power connections and/or a good ‘genny to run it, don’t forget.

yes. Look at the heater power most important. Luxury brands are faster but pull more amps. You need to fit pieces of wood at the back and sides, but such that you can screw them to floor. Not huge amounts of weight, but neeedsa fair bit of fiotting. Ours has a dryer facility which is rubbish - just a cheap zanussi thing would be fine imho.

I used to fill mine with hot water from the gas water heater,dont switch on the water supply then when it goes ummmmmmm take a hose from the boats hot water system to the soap draw when the machines full enough it will go clunk then werrrr werrr sloch be sure to turn the temp to cold! (the wash machine was on a previous boat i had in better days!)

Ive often longed to have a catamaran i even saw one for sale in Corsica being sold by an Astrian dealership that had stored it there,that was some time ago now,but as then i still cant see how i could aford a place for it?Everyone ive met with one has been realy happy even when at anchor,where i would think the motion could be uncomfortable???

Mine sits on the aft deck, lashed down with a waterproof cover! Only used at anchor and in Marina. If I was to fit it in, I would do it as close to centreline as poss, low down, fit it in a wooden enclosure, with battens to hold it in place and a door, to hide it. Do NOT under estimate its water and power usage. I used a bucket to catch the overboard water, to see how much it used, 20 litres on a normal wash, thats a bunch! Plus of course the 2kw. I only use it when my watermaker is working, when at anchor. A friend has his fitted in a large anchor locker.
