Does anyone know where I can get a new washboard lock? It is for a beneteau. I'd prefer to get a replacement for the existing type rather than the clasp and padlock approach. The existing one is lockable with a thumbwheel from the inside and by key from the outside.
thanks in advance.

Sounds like the one on my Jeanneau. Try your local Beneteau dealer, if they are like Jeanneau spares prices, they are not THAT bad.

Hi, I have just bought a Beneteau and the lock jamed on me. I tock it apart and gave the barrel a good WD40 blast, now fine. It was odd because the key went in just fine but would not turn. All OK now.

If you oil locks, they will attract dirt. The best way is to use carbon powder. And where to find that? Well, just grate a bit of powder from your no2 pencil from the nav station into the lock.

It sounds a bit like one we got from Timage, a mortice lock that sets into the top washboard with a key on the outside and a knurled wheel inside. If it is, you'll have to visit a chandlers or write to them, they don't do websites or email.

These cost in the region of £20 from chandlers. However, they can be had much cheaper = £4.03 currently! Go to http://cpc.farnell.com and do a search for camlock or order a catalogue. For the record the 2D CAMLOCK 18MM fitted a Seahawk
