My heads is a passage between main saloon and focsle which becomes separate from both by closing 2 doors. It has a reconditioned Baby Blake toilet. I installed a small washbasin a few years ago but it is not much use because it is too small and because it is attached to the bulkhead you have to twist sideways to use it. Having looked at the original plans (1946) there seems to have been a basin which either folded down or folded up so that the basin in use was almost over the toilet. Can anyone help me with the following in my attempt to restore to something sympathetic to the original: 1 what material would the material be made of and who manufactures today? 2 would it be OK for the waste to drain into the Baby Blake to avoid another skin opening? 3 would the "basin on board" be likely to have folded up or folded down (the original seems to have been hung from a shelf sticking out about 8" from the face of a bulkhead to allow clearance for the depth of the basin) 4 what type of hose would normally be used for the waste pipe 5 any other comments and suggestions gratefully received.

Friend of mine has similar with ex BR folding sink in stainless steel, folds out over the baby blake, and drains into that. Also seen sinks on sliding board which pulls out over toilet. Both types used "fold flat" pump hose from the local hire shop. Folding sinks show up on ebay fairly regularly, usually in the caravan section - or try your local caravan retailer...

Seen them in a few places, but not easy to come by, have you tried classic marine? Draining into the baby blake is no hassle, helps keep the hoses clean, fresh water that is.
