We have one of these

A Jabsco wash down pump pumps water down the length of pipe to the bow. We usually use saltwater but have a valve to chose to use fresh water.
Every now and then the pump runs for a split second. Perhaps 4x in a night.
The wash down pump is permanently left on so it is ready on demand.
Any thoughts as to its random running? I'm wondering if small particles of sediment are inside the pump.
Cheers
