Looking at the wash AND wax products to speed up washing THEN waxing time..

Is it ok to use these products over the whole boat including the GRP anti-slip textured areas? or will the wax component make these areas "not-so-anti-slip"??

Since no one else has replied - I use them and don't notice any significant difference. The shampoos do a better job than using washing up liquid for the usual reasons and for me at least works fine.

I've only ever used car shop wash and wax on my boat. I try to give her a good wax just prior to launch, rest of the season tends to be deck brush application of wash and wax from a bucket followed by a good hose down (which usually turns into a water fight with SWMBO). Part of the joys of ownership :)

Just ordered a bottle of the starbrite wash and wax.. For the price it better be awesome or it maybe the last bottle and I will be using the car stuff after that.. :)

Ok Guys this will save you a lot of hard earned cash. If you have a pound shop near you go and get some Astonish Wash & Wax. its a £1 a bottle and will do our 32 ft Colvic Watson about 20 times. I use a cap full in the water and then wash the boat all over with our JML WHizz Mop. dont laugh. I was in the Victoria Marina in Guernsey last year and a chap that was washing his 50ft gin palace was watching me so he came over and asked what the funny mop was I was using. I gave him a demo and said he could borrow it with some Astonish wash & wax. He did his boat in 20 mins and wanted to buy my mop and polish so I pointed out that he could get one on the net at JML.com and the polish at the pound shop on the bridge. 3 days later there he was proudly washing his boat with the gear. So another happy boater.

Another good one. If any one of you goes to France go to the local supermarket and get hold of a few bottles of CAROLIN ULTRADEGREASANT AND A PACK OF MICRO FIBRE CLOTHS the degreasant will set you back €1.75 for 750ml and the cloths €6 for 5 cloths. It WILL remove ANY black spots or dirt from any surface on the boat. My wife uses it on grease an dirt spots on our cloths and it gets all of it off better than vanish and alot cheaper.

Aldi's Caranuba wash wax, very cheap, cleans well and unlike some of the others does seem to leave a beading finish, don't know about non slip but it doesn't seem to harm teak.
