& the wind was resonating with the railings of the walkway down to the pontoons and making a singing sound!! Quite extraordinary. It was VERY loud. Seemingly it only happens at wind speeds of over 34 knots (F8)

Apparently it was F11 Monday, F8-9 yesterday, but only F8 today.

But some of the lighter yachts were really heeling over. CM was OK, she can take it. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I was down on my boat yesterday and heard a very loud horrible singing sound too. Turned out to be the bloke on the next boat....

Tell me about it, I slept aboard my boat in Haslar marina Sunday night. Actually "tried to sleep aboard" would be a more accurate description. By 4am I was actually feeling a tad sea sick in my bunk and had to wedge my body against the hull side to stop being rolled around by the motion!

No problems with the boat though, my Haslar berth points SW and the hull was pushed off the finger as peak winds kicked in from the south. At 10:30pm Sunday evening when I arrived the wind was just a light breeze so I dropped the genoa off the furler. 3 hours later it was too unpleasant to venture on deck to silence the lazy jacks.

I was down at my boat yesterday, full of the joys of spring i started belting out "The Banks of the Ohio" is a sort of refined punky way. An aged gentleman on the catamaran next door appeared and scowled at me. What a cantankerous auld git, are all Mike's so curmudgeonly?

Obviously not traditional enough, should have been done in a nasal Osarks twang, accompanied by steel guitar, spoons, and Dolly Parton(aged 17) in a tight top. Bet he'd have grinned then? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
