Ever since I bought my boat the port engine warning lights have been stuck on, even when the key's not in. The volt meter reads 11.5v with the ignition off but 12.5v when on. The stb side is fine.
The only way to turn the warning lights off is with the battery isolator.

Upper and lower helms are the same.
So far I've swapped the dash cables port and starboard to rule out faulty panels.
I've swapped over the 'Y' leads from the engines and everything inside the fuse panels on the engines (black box, relays and breakers)...

The oil pressure switch is also broken but I think that's a separate issue.
The fault must be further back but I'm stuck. Ideas anyone?

Yes, first thing I did. The fault must be somewhere on the engine.

Do the lights and gauges read normally / correctly when the engine is running ?

What is the voltage when the engine is shut down - have you checked it with a voltmeter ?

Does the generator light go out when the engine furst starts and revs up ?

On my TAMD60C the Oil pressure sender reads lower at the gauge as the output voltage increases,i.e. as the pressure increases the sender sends out a reducing signal. I wonder if the duff sensor is part of the issue you are having, possibly backfeeding the control loom when there is no pressure.

Is there power present at the gauge oil sender when the ignition key is tunred off ?

I expect there will be two oil pressure sensors - one a transducer providing a variable signal to the gauge, the other a NO / NC contact, closing with lower pressure. On mine the switch sender screwed into the side of the block, the gauge sender into the oil filter manifold.

No, the two lights are still on. Everthing else is normal though.

The battery is new and is normal on a voltmeter.
The light stays on all the time.

I was thinking it must be a wiring or fusebox type fault but I'm now thinking it must be just a coincidence that I have several duff sensors on one engine and none on the other. Thanks for the PM...I think I'll have to swap sensors from one engine to the other until I figure it out.

Try swapping the actual ignition switch ( where you put the key )
First click they should come on , -test ,start go off ( unless a prob ) and off + key out -go off
So having swapped everything else prob may lie in the actual ingnition switch - only need one

Got the same thing and lights came on yesterday evening about an hour after I switched main isolater on.

tired just disabled noisy squeaker.

Was woken by the engine starting all on its own!!!!

Starter was spinning so couldn't kill engine from bridge....!!!
Had to dive into bilges and pullemergency stop as well as isolating all power as starter was still spinning.

Of course in the morning I turned on power and all was normal!!!

Then 20 mins later the ignition lights came back on.

But it did start.... engines start normally but
Starter was OK....
What the xxxx!! What was your problem
Just luv intermittent faults... investigating
