Yes, a 10" band saw, not a 8", for the bargain price of £149.99. It also has a 120mm vertical cut compared to 80mm of the 8" and a 550W motor compared to 250W. I also comes with a fence and mitre guide. I only found this as my 8" band saw has packed up working and needs replacing. I shall be buying one as soon as they are available.

Is it 10"? The spec. says 12cm.

It looks very similar to my Record bandsaw.
The 12cm is the maximum cutting height, which is what other 10" wheel bandsaws quote. For 8" wheel bandsaws the maximum height of cut is 8cm. Remember I have been researching buying a bandsaw priced from £10 to £500, and I very nearly ordered a Scheppach 8" (Scheppach HBS20 230v 8in Bandsaw (ffx.co.uk)) for just under £130. The research also included 10" and 12" bandsaws, hence why I know the Aldi one is a 10".

Whilst checking bandsaws, I watched a video comparing a budget bandsaw bought in 2017 for £80 from Lidl to a premium bandsaw priced at £200. The only difference was the premium one had a cast table rather than pressed steel and could take a mitre guide. The Lidl bandsaw performed almost the same as the premium and looked exactly the same as the Scheppach above. This model is also available with other brand badges including Draper with a higher price.

With this in mind I did a search of Lidl and Aldi for a bandsaw. Hey presto Aldi have due in the one in my OP. What is more surprising is the table is cast, not pressed and the mitre guide is included, not a £30 extra - plus it is the larger 10" wheel and more powerful motor.

This is the current list of DIY products available and what is expected shortly. https://www.aldi.co.uk/c/specialbuys/diy/tools?q=:popular&privm=true&page=3&firstPlacementTotalCount=67&secondPlacementTotalCount=32 I shall be keeping a daily watch for this bandsaw and as soon as it becomes available I will post it on this thread (after I have ordered it naturally!)

I received an email from Machine Mart who are also doing bandsaws for about the same price.

Bandsaws - Machine Mart
If you check through the ones shown, none have the same capacity or motor size for any where close to the price of the Aldi one.

The Scheppach one I quoted in post #5 is exactly the same as this Clarke one Clarke CBS205 195mm Electric Band Saw (250W) - Machine Mart - Machine Mart and their price for the same Scheppach model is £159.00! Scheppach HBS20 205mm 250W Benchtop Bandsaw - Machine Mart - Machine Mart

Have a word with the brilliant guy at TuffSaws. He will advise which blades can be used for e.g. thin aluminim and wood, or other combinations.

Doe people find these small bandsaws useful? The Aldi one with a 550 watt motor might be ok but I have a 10 inch model with a 375 motor and even with a tuffsaws blade it struggles to get through anything. I'm going to have a go at making a big one:

The Aldi one looks very like my Axminster, except mine has the cast table. £112 about 16yrs ago and very useful. Had to change the rubber bands on the wheels about 6 yrs ago. Very good value for the money.

One could always use a bigger one, but for the odd big and dense wood, a friend has a commercial model.

Edit, just looked at those plans. Lot of work. I would find a second hand iron one and rebuild it.
