Got to be the first weekend of neapish tides following the ceasation of the commercial cruise ships - 'bout 2 weeks earlier than last year I make that?
over 50% of quay reserved for the trip boats from Poole Quay in the 'summer months'
Finish end September which coincides with the derestriction of the main channel in Poole Harbour - thus not only can many of our new found friends get to Wareham (well through the Harbour to the start of the river) in a few minutes but they can moor their accomodation too!
I have no intention of 'driving back' this time!
Mind you, I could always pop mine under one of the bridge arches with bow and aft lines to railings overhead
How much does the derestriction actually knock off the trip, last time it seemed that a large amount of the trip was taken up by the river bit. Going up Poole at ditchcrawler speed isn't too different to going to Port Solent or the Ferry.

About 5 miles at,say, 25 knots rather than (realistically) 8 (smaller boats wont's want to do 9-10 through the water as they will be bang on the restiance hump) - that's a saving of about 30 mins on a jouney from Lymington = over 25% of journey time.
Add the fun factor (25+) and subtract the boredom factor (steering a single engine planning hull at displacement speed) and the equation gets quite one sided!
