Wanted - Fender board in Cardiff area

I need an old scaffolding board or the like to use as a fender board. I have no idea where to get one.

Preferably close to Penarth, although I am in Portishead today if anyone has one going spare.

perhaps a call to the timber yards ? They might have a chunk of planking going cheap.

When I wanted an old ali ladder for the boat someone told me to try a plant hire place. Bingo - they were scrapping a very long ladder with a slightly bent end £10 for the tea fund. So try a plant hire place or a scaffolders - they chuck out anything that is not 100%.

How long? I think there are some outside. I did see new ones somewhere, but i can't remember where it was. I'll find out.

Re' Fender-board

I also looked for a nice piece of board but couldn't find just the right thing around Penarth. I bought a length of white HDPE (plastic) pipe, cut it to about 2.0m length, drilled a 10mm hole about 500mm in from the ends, top & bottom, then used some cordage through the holes to secure 2 fenders with a knot either side of the pipe to keep the fender in position.
Not so much windage when secured to the standing rigging or stanchions & easily renewable.
