I am setting up a project with an internet sailing programme on trailer sailing. Is there a Scuttlebutter who is an active trailer sailor who would be prepared to spend a day launching and recovering his boat for the cameras?

I am looking for someone with experience and knowledge who would be prepared to pass on both, plus hints and tips for safer, stress free launching. The boat can be almost anything provided is has cruising potential (ie not a dinghy) but it should, preferably, be a typical trailer sailer such as a Parker 21, Foxcub, Etap , etc.. Geographically we are fairly flexible, though I'm afraid it might be difficult to get to the north of Scotland. Anywhere on the South, South West or East Coasts would be fine.

Please PM me if you're interested. There would be no fee but we can offer some expenses.

My brother in law and i trail a Beneteau First 24. Fairly heavy boat for a trailer sailer, but still manageable. The keel folds underneath rather than lifts inside, so means we need a good depth of water before she floats off the trailer. Pulled by a Land Rover Discovery she is always launched and recovered with a webbing strap between vehicle and trailer. On recovery, docking arms are used and boat pulled up slip direct, pushing trailer below from bow snubber, so that boat cannot come off back of trailer. Mast raised and lowered using pulley system with very little effort. Time from arrival at coast to being on water is approx 1 hour. Often launched QAB - Plymouth. Like to recover with no-one onboard so prefer slipways with floating pontoon alongside.
