Hi Guys

I am progressing along very well now, with the arrival of 2 decent 4hla's for my 24ft cruiser, will keep one as a spare just in case as it was hard enough to find :)

I am wondering if anyone has any bell housings to mate up to a bravo transom, an exhaust and a drive coupling. the last three items before i can get going (bar some props - thats for another thread ;) )

If anyone has any idea where I can get these parts that would be ace!

thanks
Will

Hey all!

Still having a very hard time finding parts.. :( if anyone knows where i can get sone that would be awesome..

I have tried the usual suspects with not much luck yet (Keypart, Coastal rides, marine performance ect..)

Now i have the engine ready, i know ill need a bell housing, coupling, coupling cone and exhaust bits!
Thanks
Will

still looking for a bell housing and coupling!! Im two steps away from going to a machine shop and getting one made up as the cost of new is eye watering...!!

Thanks

Don't suppose they would be any help but I have a bell housing and drive plate for a big block Chevy (Mercruiser 454/Volvo 7.4) to Bravo. You may be able to machine up an adaptor plate depending on how different the bolt patterns are?

Hi Mate

I think they are q fair bit different, but would be very interested to see the difference between the 5.0l housing and the 7.4, as i have got the 5.0 but am a little concearned it would be okay taking the weight and torque!

Is there any chance you may be able to send me a photo, as if yours is more substantial then that would be a very viable option!

Thanks
Will

Hi Will

I have sent you a couple of pics, mine came off a 454 Mag Mpi so 385Hp and I am pretty sure the same flyweel and bellhousing is fitted on the Mercury Racing HP525 so you would be fine for weight and torque.

As for bolt pattern provided the housing clears your flywheel you may be lucky with bolt spacing and be able to get a spacer plate laser cut out of aluminium sheet to marry the block and bellhousing, then space the drive plate off the flywheel by the same width.

Paul.
