Went up there for the first time on the weekend, combined with the fab weather it was terrific, a very friendly atmospheric place a short walk into the town, i was a bit loathe to take a 42ft boat drawing 1.9m in as it was always going to be tight, the red buoys are pink and difficult to spot, by the time they opened the gate we had about .4m minimum under us all the way up dropping to 0 at the entrance but 2.2m over the cill, you tie up bow or stern to using a buoy to hold you off, I am surprised that i havent been before, a much more atmospheric alternative than titchmarsh although access is limited to high tide.
