Wallas hob

I have bought from a forum member a WALLAS 1000 parafin hob that will replace my ageing and possibly dangerous Vanessa cooker.
Does anybody have any experience with this particular cooker?
I expect that it will be easy to use but I don't know anything about maintaining it.
