Hi all - Just a long shot!
The electric fuel pump on my old Wallas paraffin heater as 'pass on'. I have E mailed Wallas but had no response (to date).
The Heater is cica 1980-2. the fuel pump is an electric 'inline' type which was used on the Opel Kadett car of about the same 'century'. Norway is thin on the ground with breakers yards. So can anyone suggest what can be use it place?
I cant afford to buy a new heater just yet!

Any car fuel pump should do it, they are all low pressure systems. Not from a fuel injected car, only carburretor ones. MTB should be able to help with this, he's into fuel systems, try a PM.

Hi Viking

I rebuilt my 79 Wallas paraffin heater and it's now as good as new! I had to replace the electric fuel pump, probably as a result of it not being used for a while and drying out. All parts and advice are available from

Talk to Paul Dawson.

When you've repaired it makes sure you run it for at least 10 minutes each month to keep it sweet.

Good luck!

This won't work - it's a very small inductive pump and has to meter the precise amount of fuel to feed the burner. There are 2 adjustment pots on the control board which have to be tweaked to get the correct flow rates for the low and high settings, instructions are provided with the replacement pump.

I was just going by the fact he said it was a pump from some car or other, didn't realise it was a make specific pump.

Yes I was told by the local 'fixer' that a pump (electric) from a early Opel Kadett would do the job. I have just found out that OKs only had mechincal pumps. It sound that its a special pump. Ive E Mailed and faxed Wallas, but still no reply. If I dont hear by the weekend, I think Ill have to try 'tome's' suggestion and contact Kuranda Marine in the UK and get one sent over.

Thanks for all your suggestions
