Anyone got one?

One came with the boat, no instructions (which I am currently sourcing, though the model we have is not listed on the website), but would be interested in how best to use one. Have been told it's a bit like an aga...

Can't get it to work properly at the moment - It comes on, can hear the diesel coming through for a few minutes, starts heating up, then the diesel stops and the cooker cools down. HOpefully all will become clear once I get the instructions.

Can't help with the cooker, but who have you contacted, is it Kuranda, of Whaley Bridge?
I have a Wallas heater and I've found them extremely helpful.
I think they are the UK main agents.

Wallas are among my agencies, I may be able to email you the instructions straight away if you PM me the model, sounds as though it is not turned up enough or there is a fault if it does not stay hot, they take a while to warm up so the hobs are not really suited to just boiling a kettle or the like but to cook a meal they are vey good. They do need servicing at intervals though.

I have a Wallas parafin cooker(hob). They're probably similar in principle. If the diesel stops then it's because the pump is not pumping. If it's like mine you'll hear a clicking sound that slows down once the burner lights up.Is the extraction fan working?
I once read that the diesel version is more prone to sooting up but mine started sooting up badly after years of use so I replaced it with a gas hob.

I fitted a Wallas hob with heater lid a year or so ago. Try first with a fully charged battery. My unit takes up to 7 amps during the first 3-4 minuets then, once up to temp sertles back and then consumes 0.2 or 0.3 amp to run.

Other comments above are correct. Not ideal just to boil a kettle, but very good for everything else.

Kurunda is the main UK agent but other agent help as above should be just as good.
