Faced with the increasing need to dry out socks and paws on board, I am looking at either a matrix air blower off the engine, or a Wallas heater.

The stove top version looks tidy and does not take up much space, but the galley is near the main hatch so convection will take a lot of the heat straight out to atmosphere.

That leaves me the Wallas cabin heater. Expensive but effective.

Any thoughts please, or direct experience ?

I have Wallas 3kw heater I fitted 5 years ago in Naida. I am pleased with it, low power use and very quiet compared with most. I have 4 outlets the longest one to the foc'sle doesn't get that hot unless I shut the others off. No problems with it I occasionally run it for a while every month in summer to replenish the fuel. It takes a good 10 minutes to get enough heat through though. Also have a Wallas cooker (fitted when I built boat 10 years ago) which I really love but it did have a period of tempermentality which it has now recovered from. I did consider the Wallas top heater but decided that it may be a bit of a hassle to keep taking on and off when I need to use the hob.
The heater was simple enough to install but it is quite bulky, I fitted mine in the engine bay so this helps keep the noise down.
