Hello all
I recently posted about the above mountings and Kevin kindly posted me a port one for which I am very grateful. Several forumites commented that it would be good if someone made some as they are always left behind on the boat when it is removed. I have had a look at the one I have got from Kevin and I am going to have a little 'play' to see how easy it would be to make them from stainless. Obviously a one off would be quite expensive and not viable even at cost but a batch would be much cheaper. Any thoughts/interest?

I suppose they'll need to be punched/pressed to make the shape so you'll need to make a tool. Won't be easy/cheap looking at the shape of the original. Also, I wonder if bronze/DZR would be easier to press then SS ?

I have absolutely no idea. I was just going to try and make one for myself and then Following the comments on my last post I thought that having sussed it I might do a few people a favour. I would possibly be able to find the material, about 75mm square, and then see how it went. I would just do it for the challenge, as you say quite a hard thing to do.

10mm sounds a bit thick. My hazy memory of the mountings is closer to 5mm. That is if I am thinking of the same bracket, that was fitted P & S for the Walker?

I thought that, then read the posts again - he is talking about machining from 10mm rather than pressing the shape. Sounds 'spensive to me, but good luck - I remember my search for them too, they are a bit like the odd socks that go missing.
