Many years ago when I used to teach sailing in the Solent, I had on board always a Walker trailing log as spare equipment. It looks like a small white box with 2 AA batteries + the wire and the impeller to tow. I am looking to find one of this log, please if any reader can help me, I will appreciate.
thank you Anna Scanga

Only got very vague recollections of the Walker one. I think the Stowe one was around a bit longer so you are more likely to find one of those perhaps. IIRC Wasp also did a towed one but i can't remeber if it was an electronic one or a mechanical one.

Why not look out for a mechanical Walker one (Knotmaster)

This listing came up on eBay recently (but the auction ended a few days ago):-

It's part only - the trailing part comprising a rotor/transducer unit fitted to the end of what appears to be a sender cable to feed data back to the head. Apparently the head unit had been lost. It's the only electronic Walker I've ever seen - might be worth contacting the seller to see if he can give you more info about the model (e.g. name) so that you can search more effectively.

[/ QUOTE ] Thats the one I remember. The head unit (with the electronics and display) unclipped from the base/ mounting bracket so that it could be safely stowed .... or lost!
