Newbie here, one question should I hove too before using the shower room, thanks
Thanks, been a worry, thinking of conditions off Cape Horn….In conditions like Saturday's RTI, it wouldn't make a lot of difference. Far better to just go on the fore deck for a cool, bracing salt water shower.
Not something our predecessors had the pleasure of…….one of the high lites of a cruise Isa proper shower at the end of the cruiseIf its a bit choppy just sit on the seat(s), no need to hove to.
A decent hot shower does wonders for enthusiasm on a boisterous, chilly day - even better if followed by a pot of fresh and steaming coffee (the real stuff - not Nescafe)

And that my friend is why manky old wooden boats from yesteryear should stay there. Not something our predecessors had the pleasure of…….one of the high lites of a cruise Isa proper shower at the end of the cruise
I think even if I had a shower onboard I would use shore facilities,I did once have a boat with a shower but seemed a bit of a faffAnd that my friend is why manky old wooden boats from yesteryear should stay there.
The shore is a long way away when you are several days out and hot, sticky and smellyI think even if I had a shower onboard I would use shore facilities,I did once have a boat with a shower but seemed a bit of a faff
The English traditionally don’t wash as much as continentals….
Goodness no. Just strip and stand on the foredeck in a F6.Newbie here, one question should I hove too before using the shower room, thanks
Or do what we did and fit a watermaker. We almost never use the shore facilities shower. It’s such a faff to walk up the pontoon washbag and clothing and towel in hand when there’s two showers available even on our little boat.So which one of your day dream boats has the problem of a shower Wandsy?
FWIW, I love our shower on board. Only problem is the size of our water tanks onboard. Next boat I'm looking for is to be around 40-45ft and have a number of tanks so weekend sailing we can have a couple of hundred litres on board but when we go for our 3 week cruise we can depart with a tonne of the stuff on board. Shower every day / second day would be glorious.
Sail a Dragonfly. The lee outrigger is like being jetwashed in anything 15kn or moreGoodness no. Just strip and stand on the foredeck in a F6.
Enema optional?Sail a Dragonfly. The lee outrigger is like being jetwashed in anything 15kn or more
Don’t face aft.Enema optional?
Saves on toilet paper at least!Don’t face aft.
If you prefer your rear end washing to be more like a bidet, you could sit on the lee trampoline. Waist deep froth comes up through that. Though sometimes something bigger, greener and wetter, just to surprise you. It surprised the hell out of me on Monday, when retrieving the kite. Mrs C and a friend were perfectly dry in the cockpit about 2m from me. That must be why she likes to steer.Saves on toilet paper at least!
