So exactly how antisocial will it be if I go into my garage and use the table saw tonight? What time on a sunday morning would be socially acceptable? Its a loud table saw. But time presses on, and I ought to get the boat back in the water before August..

Well, its 10.30 and I've had too much wine to use power tools, and be "responsible for navigation"... ( /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

As for the picture, well that's me holding the hatch, just before we gybed and broke something. The vessel is "Espanola" BTW. She looks a bit tidier now. The old barrel was used for warp storage, and the old seagull lying awash rarely worked - usually because of the way it was stowed...

Back to serious mode , on a Sunday I don't usually start on the boat until 9AM and my neighbours are quite some distance away so it depends on what yours are like , but if the weather is like it was today I will be back inside by 11 , rain and power tools don't mix /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

IIRC the "quiet time" on noisy behavour is 23:00 to 07:00 the following morning - or so I was informed by plod when a neighbout complained about the noise from the building work going on at my house.
Plod had a sense of humour - told me to keep going until 23:00 if I wanted (out of badness) and start again at 07:00. Nothing they, or anyone else, could do about it as it was not a regular event.

I would have thought good manners would suggest a bit of peace and quiet after, say, 9.00pm at most. I would certainly not expect my good neighbours to be kicking up a racket at 11.00pm - thats just inconsiderate. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Jacked it in at 9 as I'm shattered. Finally found Howard Chappelle's advise good - have a chair handy to sit and think. Been hunched over a table saw all afternoon and you could use my bogies as wood filler. (Ew! Too much info, I know) Think Dust mask next time.
