I don't know the significance.........don't remember seeing these in the summer this time last year....its why I posted!

Yes, always here at this time of year. Mind you, they are Curlews. I would expect some Godwit round the top of Pyefleet at this time of year.

I think its the Oyster Catchers that make the most din

The first group are black-tailed godwits. I saw some behind Titchmarsh the other day as well as some dunlin. Both these and a load of others are mainly winter visitors and I imagine that these were early arrivals. Godwits are handsome birds, especially in the summer plumage shown, but I still struggle to pick out the less common bar-tailed ones. Our East Coast waders are the chief consolation for winter in our area.
