On way home to Bray this afternoon, doing a good 5mph, and accompanied by a couple of other Bray vessels, we were passed by this:

A nice example of a 1960's cruiser, doing a speedboat impression. I have never seen a bowwave quite this large, and as he must have been doing around 8mph, not surprising.

This is a classic example of the normal late weekend run back to Bray lock, as it's so small.

I thought I would post it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Saw a couple like that just downstream of Tedders this weekend , going up the weirstream ...

Asked them to slow down , which they did . /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

hmmm saw a few like that this weekend :-( now I wonder have they posted a video on You tube, god help him if he has.

On a serious note, it seems to be more and more the last two seasons and the pleasure cruisers are not exactly slow either, having enjoyed a walk along the Thames path today, you realise just how much wildlife and fauna is damaged by this kind of wash, After the flooding it eventually repairs itself but this every hour and every day does untold harm in my view

damn forgot that or if you are over 40, have a big boat and don't boast, then it's ok as well /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

On my few visits to the river,it does appear that most of you lot are in a blimming hurry most of the time compared to other navigations.
Always tried to be last into the lock when ever possible to avoid the 12 other very impatient boaters all attempting to get past me as we proceed/creep* at a very stately 2-3 knots,in their desperate hell for leather dash to go the next 1.5 miles get to the next bottleneck. ASAP.
