P.S. Two navy patrol boats in the bay this am for security for some big Politcal summit (Prescot et al). Some poor sod was sent For'd to make ready for Douglas Harbour and got an absolute pasting. Was watching through telescope and I swear I could lip read...... '!?"$^&*)+$"%'

Laugh!, I nearly pooped!!

Be careful, we'll end up back at storm 10 thread. He He!

Probably could have gone, but four hours pounding away, in mist and piddling rain did'nt really apppeal. Wind thingy at the end of breakwater was gusting 35 knts. I am a wuss I know but did all that roughty thoughty stuff years ago when I was a rib nut. Chrystal chandlier would probably smash in the Gin Palace!.

What? in that flat calm! Boring as hell. I like it when it's rough! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Aah - a man after my own heart - looks like a good day for a wee run with the spinaker up or the genoa poled out one side and the cruising chute poled out the other. Weeeeeeeeeeee. good day to clean the hull - a wee bit of slaming about soon loosens the weeds.

Red wine is a good cure for...

...the lumpy stuff. Drank a bottle in the yacht club and decamped to my boat (by dinghy) for the night. Reading MBM in my cabin, with another bottle opened and the wind picked up - and up - and up. Went astern and checked on my dinghy. Didn't want it turning over like it did last time, so I lashed it to the bathing plarform, and settled in to more reading, some music and polished off the second bottle. Turned in at 12:35 - just after the VHF gale warning for Irish Sea...

Ah bliss - slept through an F6/7 right on the bows.
Like I said, a drop of red cures lumpy seas /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Trevor,
Sent you PM.
Sunday is looking more reasonable, however, you will have to sit tight for a while - there is more wind due in for early next week /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Thanks Mike, was hoping for Tuesday back Thursday. Metcheck is giving OK but Local says otherwise. Fantastic day here today (bit lumpy this morning but flat calm now). I'd near jump on the next tide tonight except I'd have to go single handed.

What's the tide for tues / wed, Damien says I can get in LW +/- 1 hr

Tue HW: 00.06 & 12.36. Damien is probably correct and he knows the channel like the back of his hand. I would advise +/- 2 hours as we do not have his experience. Forecast for Tue / Wed looks bad with Atlantic lows on the way, probably strong SW winds. Keep an eye on buoy M2. Tomorrow looks good until late evening. We plan to hop down to Bray to see the Red Devils display advertising the airshow off Bray beach in August.

Thanks, will just wait and see what turns up, weather is so variable at the mo yesterday was supposed to be SW4-5 gusting 6, in the end by afternoon it was flat calm you could have gone out in a bath tub and been ok.

Have a good trip.
