Anyone any experience of these? Is it easy/hard/impractical to get to dublin or belfast to fly back? Any particular harbours that make good places t leave the boat AND give me reasonably easy transport links to the airports? Fin keel, 4.5 ft draft. Thanks.

There is a good rail system to get you to Dublin, see here http://www.irishrail.ie/timetables/live-map-intercity
and usually buses to connect with the train stations.
We have left our boat at Lawrence's Cove marina, near Castletown Bearhaven, which was very safe being on an island.
Galway harbour would be very convenient for the train. Likewise Cork, Crosshaven or Kinsale.
Sligo would connect through to Belfast, via Enniskillen by bus, or by rail to Dublin.

We visited Kinsale last year, lovely place and only a few miles from Cork airport with a half hourly bus service to get you there. Alternatively the same bus will drop you at Cork bus station where you can get an express coach connection to Dublin airport.

Kinsale with bus to Dublin and airport couldn't be easier done it a couple of times when I have been time poor and wanted to spend time on the Irish SW coast;

Thx, I basically have a weeks sailing from Cumbria, then need to come back and work for 3 days, then just under 2 weeks to get back and keep sailing. Then if I have to, I can fly back again for a job then have another 4/5 days to get her back to Cumbria. Will either go round the north and west to try for Sligo, to fly back and then try and keep going, or head back or up to outer Hebrides. Or I will head south to cork/kinsale , fly from there then either carry on or come back and cross to Cornwall and back up via Welsh coast.

Irish rail services can be found at www.irishrail.ie Prices seem to have gone up a lot recently. Most trains from the west end up at Heuston Station and Dublin Bus run a very regular bus service from there to the Airport. Bus no. 747.

Bus Eireann is the 'semi-state' bus company running coaches in Ireland. www.busereann.ie However they've got a few issues and it may only be a matter of time before they go bankrupt. Lots of private bus companies have sprung up running services up to Dublin and for the most part on to Dublin Airport. You'll have to search according to whereever you end up. Bus Eireann also run the local bus services outside Dublin.

In the north Translink run both the trains and express coaches. www.translink.co.uk Buses run to both airports from Europa/Gt Victoria St.

And as mentioned above, at a pinch you could walk from Belfast Marina to Belfast City Airport, although the mini bus from the Odyssey or a taxi will be easier. The airport will also pick people up from Sydenham station and there's a phone there for you to contact them (or at least there was a few years ago).

The norm in NI is to book a taxi with a flat fare rather than just hoping in and paying what's on the meter. Many of the larger taxi firms allow you to book over the web.
