Vtronix Hawk Antenna

Good bit of kit. Make sure you follow the instructions on setting up the vanes and that you get it aligned correctly on the mast - I got mine out by a couple of degrees last time and it s really annoying!

Re: Vtronix Hawk Antennae

Fully agree. The only one worth having, IMHO. There can occasionally be a problem getting the cable inside the gland to connect with the antenna but it's not a major difficulty. I just replaced a 10 year old one that was still working fine, just as a precaution.

I have had a couple of these snap off at the base of the antenna, at the top of the fixing thread. The plastic seems to be quite brittle.
Now it may have been that I was a bit heavy handed when tightening the fixing nut, however one had been up a couple of months before breaking. This one did happen when we had some 60knt winds, but even so a windex should easily cope with that without falling off!!!

All I would say is that you need to be careful when tightening the fixing nut, little more than hand tight should be OK.
