Does anybody know what VP added to this engine when they marinised it?
I have to replace the heat exchanger (old and shot to pieces now as well), get a new exhaust manifold elbow for mine; it looks like the cheapest way to do it is to buy a Bowman combined heat exchanger/exhaust manifold and get a new elbow fabricated from S/S.
Now in the past I've removed the VP fuel filter/line/lift pump system and fitted a nice easy to access 12v lift pump and 2 filters in series. The existing heat exchanger had to be removed re-plumbed and re-located as a stand alone unit (don't ask, but it works better than the original set up!).
So, have I de-volved the volvo and ended up with a marinised much simpler and cheaper to get bits for Peugeot XDP4.90 now?
