Has anyone had this problem
My compressor belt is starting to shred along the length of one of the grooves after only 4 hours use, the grooves on the drive on the crankshaft pulley look ok no distortions evident also the driven groove on the compressor looks good , has anyone any suggestions as to what I should be looking for..
Thanks

I had this once when the pulley on the power steering pump migrated out of alignment with the other pulleys.

Thanks Jimmy

My main serpentine belt is fine this is the one driving the power steering and water pump, the compressor belt which is inside the main serpentine belt travels over two idler's and two grooved pulleys, the belt is fairly short and in a confined space so it's hard to check pulley alignment.
