Hi folks, Does anyone with a VP D2-75 have the coolant plumbed into to heat hot water and if so where are the hoses going to the hot tank connected to?
A picture or 2 would be great. I have the manual for the D2 series and it is different for the d2-55 and the D2-75 but I understood they were the same engine with the 75 having a turbo.
The manual says to "replace" a hose but for some reason I don't trust that!2026-03-12 11_45_37-Volvo Penta Marine Engine Installation Manual D1 D2 (2).pdf.pngThanks in advance!

I don't know the engine but the turbo diagram is not what you need if you do not have a turbo.
Broadly speaking the flow to the calorifier needs to be from a high point in the engine preferably before the thermostat, like ly to be a tapping in the cylinder head, and the return to the inlet, suction, side of the engine cooling water pump.

Thanks folks, having looked at the engine last eve the manual is right. @Leslie frank can I ask did you put in a 3 way valve to shut off the external hose or did you just just plumb directly to the heat exchanger/ hot tank?

I just plumbed straight into the tank. I thought the more joins the more chance of problems. I have kept the original pipe so I could quickly swap it back if there was a problem. My pipe runs are each about 1500mm if that's of any interest and my tank is lower than the bottom hose point.
