Can anyone with a VP D1-30B with SD130B saildrive (ratio 2.19:1) and 2 blade Flex-o-Fold prop tell me what static rpm they get forward and astern please?

I was looking at a boat with this combination the other day and was a bit concerned to get 3200rpm astern but only about 2500rpm forward. This was static - could not go out in 40kt wind on Thursday! - so I would expect maybe 200-300 more under way, which would just about bring it up to the bottom of VP's spec of 2800-3200. However I imagine any folder is going to take less power astern and they would not want to over-rev it.

The prop is a standard factory fit on the boat so should be the right size. The worry is whether the engine is down on power. I suspect it's OK but would like some comparisons.

Thanks

It should get at least 3000. Suggest you check with Darglow what the correct size should be for your boat/engine combination. Expect it should be 16” diameter but the pitch may be too coarse so holding revs down.
