This is seen 'moving in / out' when throttling ... it can be 'wobbled' by hand as if its loose on a shaft ...

Its working but of course wobbling while running risks alternator belt failing and also pump itself.

Looking for advice.

Replacement pumps are very very rare to source and if you are able to, they are very very expensive. It may be possible to rebush and or fit new bearings. The car version may fit but if you have raw water cooling will not last very long. I had an Ockelbo DC21 for any years with the same engine and it was a constant maintenance object. Spare parts are not available from. VP and you have to go to the secondhand market. Try Blocket.se as sometimes parts turn up. Good luck

I have a 50 page manual AQ series which has a short section on dismantling / assembling the pump - but nothing about removal etc from engine.

I've tried to find Youtube video about it .. nothing ... I've searched online for anything more detailed .. nothing ...

Has anyone any manuals or information to assist in this repair ? Surely there must be a better more detailed workshop manual for this engine ??

Now I'm recovered from Baltic Sea trip ... guy has come and removed the Circ pump from the AQ170 ... reckons end of week will be back .. I gave him full service repair kit - so hopefully all should be good.

We have fishing trips planned ... end of year - the Flounders and Cod come close to shore .. so we plan a few calm day trips down the coast to fill a few buckets !! Plus Pike fishing on the river as they feed up for winter.

With GPS giving you speed, do you really need a physical speed log?

I always found that mine fouled up after a couple of months anyway.

Do I NEED it .. no.

Do I WANT it .. yes.

Why ?

I like to know boats actual performance and not what is the combination of boat and water its in.

So far I have a max speed on this boat of 25kts SOG ..... I would like to know STW.

I agree that they foul up .. but pull and clean is not impossible.

Damn .... all going good ... now I have temp rising and falling depending on engine speed ... and watching engine - there's leak on the circulation pump .....

When fitted all was good ... but looks like after running couple of hours use - joint of pump to block may be leaking past the gasket .... possibly allowing air in giving rise to the varying temperature ...

Means removing alternator belt ... pulling the cone cover off and then checking joint. Would be so much easier without that cone covering everything .. but its the belt pulley as well.
