Charge Alarm/light erratically sound/flash.

All circuits etc. and the Alternator have been tested, even replaced the regulator but to no avail.

Problem now points to the Instrument panel itself specifically the solid state electronic unit.

Please could anyone advise where I maybe able to source one at a sensible price

OR

Any alternative solution apart from ignoring the ear piercing alarm

Many Thanks

No but £180 from Keypart may be the best youll find.

OR

You could disable the buzzer but that may not be the most sensible suggestion

That sounds more like a bad connection, broken wire or similar, giving a intermittent false signal.

I'd go with halcyon's suggestion before spending.
I built myself a test box for my 2003 panel (No glow plug/lamp- I think the 2030 has a glow plug/lamp). You are welcome to a copy of my Powerpoint file on it as a PM attachment, if you wish.
Good Luck

Thank you for all your tips.

Luckily I have found a chap with a new component so we can test before I have to cough up the cash.......ridiculously expensive part.

Viv, I did consider for a moment about silencing the alarm but ruled that out straight away..... if I missed over heating it could cost me a load more than £200. Agree with you there not advisable !

Sometimes you just have to pay (and have a beer).
