Hi All

After buying my MGC 27 last season, I have been out of the water for the season and am getting my winter jobs completed ready for going back in next month.

I have a VO120s sail drive which is fitted with a Brunto Autoprop. I’ve had the prop off to replace the anodes (sail drive and prop)

When refitting the prop and tightening the prop locking nut, the hub has a 3-4mm space between the hun and saildrive anode and the hub moves fore and aft on the shaft.

As pretty new to sailing I’m guessing I’m right in assuming there should be no movement of the prop hub on the shaft?

Should there a bush or anything that fits between the prop hub and saildrive anode to stop movement on the shat? Or would anyone with experience have any other suggestions.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Nick

Often there is a thrust washer that sits at front of prop
They are known to stick to the boss when the prop is removed however they fall off so when you refit there is your gap
Check with bruntons for details

Thank you for this. I’ll give Brunton a shout tomorrow

There should be no movement. The prop goes up against a shoulder at the end of the splined part of the shaft. There may be a gap between the boss and the anode.
