just finished reading The Voyage of Storm Petrel by Clarissa Vincent on Kindle which thought I'd pass on as it's a bit of a bargain currently at £1.53 v the printed version at £8.02.

This true story is penned by a solo female sailor sailing a 27ft Folk Dancer from Bristol to West Africa (Senegal and the Gambia) via an over winter in Portugal where she builds her own self steering gear out of necessity of not having an overflowing bank balance. This isn't a how to book, rather the narrative of an adventure. Well written good read.

I know Clarissa and have her book. I agree, it's a good read and a bargain at the price - not the usual Halberg Rassy marina hopping tale. That's only the start as well; she ended up going up the Gambia then back to our East Coast.

Are the illustrations in the Kindle version legible or is it best to go for the printed version?

Images are readable...

Certainly readable, look good, but i havent seen the printed version myself.

One of the things I like about kindle books is the fact you can return them online within 7 days very easily.
