Hello anyone that can help,
I am currently stuck in the middle of France with my sail boat on the way to the Med. My 1975 volvo penta md1 decided to brake on me . I'm at the mechanic and he wants to charge me bloody 3000-4000 euros to fix a piston barring. I'm better off just buying a new one for that price . So i have taken it upon myself to fix it or to part it out . I have two weeks until i get paid so it will give me something to do while im stuck here. I am having a problem getting the head off. Do i have to remove the injector and valve springs too ? I have all the bolts out of the head it just still seems attached in a way. Im not so knowable of this kind of engine , mostly motorcycles. thanks hope anyone can help.
