Vosper 68ft RTTL rebuild.

Thanks Ben.
At 8:45 in first video they are doing the double diagonal mahogany planking again. I realise that in the olden days this might have been done with nails, but I was surprise that they were not taking advantage of modern adhesive and gluing the planks on, to create a total bond between the layers. Is it normal not to use glue nowadays?

Good question, aside from the authenticity debate... and let's not go there!

Originally there would have been cotton impregnated with oil in between the layers of timber, I wonder if this oil may be an issue for modern adhesives. It being a partial job might be a factor, managing the interaction between old and new.

HSL102 and MGB 81 were both replanked in their entirety and in both cases it was a full epoxy job, covered with an epoxy cloth sheath. That is how I would do it (if I was loony enough to take on a wooden boat that big).
