Volvo\'s flying high over Hamble!!

After my saga the other week, coming back from Depsol land, finally had the engines pulled out today by monster yard crane!! bit of a mess. Completely wrecked one bellhousing when shaft tried to eat its way through to the outside world. not taking any chances, so other engine out to replace bearings. Trouble is, everyones off on hols, so getting parts and services organised is a bit difficult, Yard crane driver now off for 2 weeks.
Optomistically hoping to re- launch end of Aug.

Depsol, hope all is well with yours.

Yep all is well altho I cant get full revs only 3400 (32 knts) not 3600 and she wasnt fully loaded but could be cos of new pistons etc all a bit tight still dunno lets see as time goes on. New SS prop on its way next week so see what happens with that when it is fitted.

It would have been quicker and cheaper if you had broken down over here!

Off to Dielette tomorrow luch till Monday then off to Alderney.

Re: Volvo\'s flying high over Hamble!!

My TAMD41P in Artic Fox would only pull 3500 on delivery/handover trial. Now with 35 hours on she will pull the full 3800. So I would think it is all a bit tight at the moment.

Anyway, I would take it easy for the first few hours and keep varying revs to help thermally de-stress all the moving bits.

Glad to hear you are back "dans l'eau"

Chris
