Volvo TMD 22 raw water pump

LEAKING

In the gap in the main housing where the shaft is exposed it's dripping and at normal revs sprays seawater over the engine.

I've managed to get it off and with a machine shop mate's assistance have stripped it down to the essentials. There is a water seal and two encased bearings one of the bearings is knackered because the water has got past the seal.

Good news is - there is a "service kit" available. seals bearings etc..

Will post pics if anyone is interested in the pump diss-assembled.

Definitely interested - it's bound to happen sooner or later. Not sure if yours will be the same as the MD22L?

i'm not sure which TMD22 model i have but the water pump sits on top of the engine deiven by it's own belt a fat grooved one.
