Volvo Throttle Controls

I have two Volvo TAMD60 diesels in my Flybridge cruiser but on one engine only, the throttle levers both in the cabin and on the flybridge won’t stay open but gently fall back unless I hold them in place. I have tightened up the screws on the clamp over the two cable ends on the engine mounting but that hasn’t cured the problem. Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong?

have you tried the friction adjustment screws under the cover of the throttle levers?

Just lift off the plastic cover and you will see them.

As the esteemed Mr Moose MK1 says. Tighten this. Theres even a lable to tell you so!!

If that doesent work try teleflex/morse cable brakes. Part No: 044386 These are fitted on the cable close as poss to the control heads.

I think I need them too, as the friction screw doesn't seem to work on my starboard engine. Should you do it up really tight for it to work? How much are these cable brakes?

The friction screws do get worn with much use and tightening.
ill find the price out and post it tommorow!

can you not put a bigger screw in there?
