Before coming ashore last year the boat was run in gear alongside the pontoon (one engine forward, the other reverse) to warm up the oil. After about 10 minutes the inner (port) engine jumped out of gear, but carried on running. Put the lever back to neutral and re-engaged and all was OK for a couple of mins then it did it again. Another peculiarity was that the engine hours LCD display on the rev counter threw a wobbly and gave some odd reading, that cleared when the throtte was reset. Anybody got any ideas/seen this at all? -I've heard that it could be a loose connection on the EDC system or possibly just the prop cavitating whilst she was tied alongside. All suggestions gratefully rx'd.

The LCD display on the rev counter gets its power from the back of the ign switch when its in the 'run' position, so check the wiring behind the panel. Should be blue with red stripe.
Also check all the multiplugs on the EDC system, including the two square black connectors on the gearbox which operate the solenoid valves for forward and reverse. Also check the Diagnostic function to see if any fault codes are stored.
