Volvo TAMD 61A - are they ok VP?

The boat I am looking at has this engines Volvo TAMD 61A (1990)

Are they ok ?

Yes they are , as with all engines they had there early teething troubles, which on the 61 was,

Fragile engine mounts, vibration issues causing some metalwork parts to vibrate and crack, main issue was eroding exhaust valves which failed and caused major engine work.

Hi Paul, i have read many good things about your advise, i have a boat with twin TAMD 61A engines can your service and repair work bring you down to the good old river medway at all? its so difficult to find a quality marine mechanic!!
