Volvo TAMD 41a. Engine oil

Hello,
I need to change the oil on my engines prior to the summer trip. Does anyone know what grade is best for them? In laymans terms. They have done 650 hrs each. I realised they are big lumps but 11 or so litres each wow.

Yep I'm afraid you've joined the big boys! Quite frankly any good quality diesel oil suitable for turbo Diesel engines should be ok, but you can look it up on the Internet! I'm pretty sure it will tell you to use Volvo oil which can be more expensive.

You don't need 'Volvo' oil
any 15/40 diesel suitable will do
Get a 25litre drum from your local motor factors
Cheap as chips
But don't use the residue in yer chip pan
Taste aint bad but stinks the kitchen out!

Avoid low SAPS oil like the plague, it will kill your tappets.

Volvo spec. for TMD41B is CD, confirmed by rep. on stand at Southampton a few years ago.
