Does anyone know where I can get a set of replacement engine mounts for an MD7A/110S Saildrive. I've just been quoted in exess of £200.00 for three bits of rubber with captive bolts. Not brackets, nut, washers etc . . . just the rubber mounts. Is this a monumental rip-off or what? I can't believe that these mounts are made solely for this engine. Surely they are used in Trucks/Cars also. So can anyone help me to start looking?

Mick,
Try R and D couplings. They do engine mounts as well. I've just fitted one of their couplings. Good price, good service, good product.

I had to buy mounts at Volspec at Tollesbury a few years ago after 2 failed while on a cruise. They charged me full price and would not offer a discount, they were about £92 each I seem to remember. I vowed never to buy anything from them again. Smart cars in their car park!!

absolutely agree- saved some 300 euros on spares on account of Keypart and Volspec quotes - Volvo Holland was forced to comply.
Good luck,

have to say in their defence, volspec and keyparts that is, that they both do their best to source elseware than direct from vp. what i do know is that if you want a genuine vp part ask them both for a quote, they source from all over and both do better on different spares.
the biggest prob of course is the imho pricing policy of vp.
it seems to be engrained in the company, was talking to one of their techies about the exorbitant price of their raw water pumps for the 20x0 series engines, i had just bought a highly complex water pump for my vauxhall corsa for the princely sum of £50, complete with gaskets etc and he thought it was quite normal to talking about the £200ish mark!! says it all
maybe worth taking the mounts to an old fashioned motor factors and talking to the oldest chap there, he may recognise a near match
