Can anyone confirm the gear ratio for the 120SE, could I directly replace with a 120SB which is 2.21 : 1

2.2:1 is the ratio of the lower unit.
I am finding the same ratio for the 120SE but I cannot guarantee there is no variation.
Your engine owners manual will tell you the ratio in the Technical data section.

OK, thanks, it is the leg I need to swap out so that sounds like it should be fine. I had a quick flick through the boats manual tonight but did not see the drive ratio, perhaps I need to go back and read it more thoroughly
