Volvo Rev Counter

I have a Volvo TMD31 installed in my Nauticat 33 (yes, I know, a bit over the top, but it was there when I bought the boat!). The Rev Counter needs replacing and the new model from Volvo (they don't make the one I currently have any more) costs about £250 from Volvo. Does anyone have any ideas for a suitable but cheaper alternative? I'm assuming this price reflects the typical attitude that anyone with a boat has money to chuck away. Cheers

You don't say why you think it needs replacing. Might it be possible to repair it? There are lots of firms which carry out tachometer repairs. Alternatively, the VP 873992 tachometer is only about $200 from Marine Parts Express, who ship worldwide.
