Volvo/Perkins Alternator & Regulator

All,

I'm close to completing a Perkins 102-04 marinisation but can't work out what to do with the alternator. I have the original (very small/light) alternator but it has only 4 x light wires coming out of the back (2 x white, 2 x blue). I'm guessing that the alternator doesn't have an 'internal' regulator and that the 4 wires would go to an external regulator or smart charger?

Any views? This is quite uncommon on marine alternators I think (likely because this is a marinisation!). What options do I have?

Why don't you 'phone Perkins Tech' on 01733 583000 and ask for Dave Cumbridge he will put you right. Have all the relative data to hand or he can get a bit grumpy if you haven't made the effort.
